At play in the fields of Jefferson

Strolling around Ashland yesterday morning before heading to the theater for the first of two performances, I played tourist and walked into a Gateway Real Estate office. Emile Cloutier made me feel welcome and in our half-hour conversation gave me the impression that he'd make you feel welcome as well. Should you decide to move to Ashland, give him a call.

This area is not for everyone. In talking with some of the more colorful locals, I learned that many of the residents are strong supporters of a movement begun in the last century to form a new state--called Jefferson (after Thomas, not Davis). It'll be interesting to see how this area votes in the primaries.
